It was to ensure that neither Swapo nor Cuban forces moved into this area as the South African Defence Force (SADF) withdrew. The JMC consisted of SADF and Fapla headquarters (HQ) personnel and infantry from both armies to monitor the area concerned. It operated in southern Angola from February 1984 to May 1985. ER -
