TRANSLATING TECHNICAL SERVICE PROSE
Abstract
In the writing of reports, memoranda, evaluations, orders etc. the staff officer is compelled to draw heavily upon the technical and specialist knowledge of others. He need not himself be an expert, but he should be able to incorporate the relevant data in the staff document in such a way that it supports or illustrates the message. This implies a fluent command of at least the two official languages, and an understanding of what he is trying to communicate.Downloads
